Toni Coutts - Writer & Photographer
Toni Coutts is a Writer and Photographer who lives in the outback town of Katherine in the Northern Territory of Australia. Toni is passionate about where she lives and loves portraying the country and the people who live there, through photography and stories.
Currently the Executive Officer of Katherine Regional Arts and a Councilor on the KatherineTown Council she has had a varied career from living on cattle stations, riding in campdrafts and barrel racing to owning a variety store in outback Borroloola and a dress boutique in Katherine. She pursues her passion for writing and the community campaigning against the building of a $10million heavy vehicle bypass through the cultural and heritage area of the Katherine Railway precinct.
She has recently been a guest on Radio National 'Bush Telegraph' Manbulloo Homestead and a book review about the Australian classic 'We of the Never Never' by Mrs Jeannie Gun. Log on the ABC Radio National and look for 'Bush Telegraph' both stories were recorded in July 2010.
Toni has recently self published a biography about her father and Territory legend Bill Tapp.
The book 'Bill Tapp - Cattle King' is available for sale at the Top News Newsagency in Katherine.
