Katherine Regional Arts is saying goodbye to it’s Arts Development cross Finance Officer Lill and is looking for a new passionate and dedicated Community Arts Development Officer to join our small team!
This varied role combines communications, project management, administration and finance (optional) in a fun and creative work environment.
Main Duties / Responsibilities:
- Communicate Katherine Regional Arts’ program of events to the public through monthly newsletters, social media, ads in the local newspaper and community engagement
- Co-ordinate public workshops, open studios and artist in residencies, liaising with artists, committee members and the community
- Management of our Solar Cinema, including liaising with clients, co-ordinating hiring logistics, set-up and pack-down
- Help co-ordinate, plan and deliver the annual Junk Sculpture Festival. This includes managing teams of volunteers; liaising with stakeholders, artists, sponsors and the media; setting up and packing down of the festival
- The job entails shifting, setting up, demounting and lifting heavy items – responsible handling must be practiced at all times
- Develop and distribute promotional material for community events
- Evaluation of Katherine Regional Arts’ activities and events
- Maintain membership, equipment hire and asset registers
- Grant writing and various administrative tasks as required
- Responding to community enquiries and feedback
- If the applicant has experience in bookkeeping, there is the option of one extra day per week
Key selection criteria:
- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
- Proven project management experience
- A passion for the arts and community development
- Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop Elements, WordPress and general computer literacy
- Flexibility, patience and intercultural awareness
- Bookkeeping experience and proficiency in MYOB desired but not essential
The Community Arts Development Officer position is casual – 3 days p/week
